Report a topophony

Share the curiosities and acoustic beauties you know or encounter that you think are noteworthy.
At the moment, the project is particularly concerned with Friuli Venezia Giulia, but we are also interested in neighboring areas, both Italian and foreign.

We are interested in all phenomena to be heard. Be they natural, man-made or from the animal world, related to weather or seasonal events.

They can be active sounds, for which one only needs to put oneself in listening, but also acoustic phenomena caused, either by one’s own voice or by a sound that triggers them, such as the effects of echo, resonance, booming, absorption, muffling, and so on.

They may also be very rare sounds, but it is important that they can be found, that you can point them out, and that others can hear them in turn, so we will ask you to describe them and explain where, when, and how to find them.

We will listen to them, go and record them, and include them in this guide of ours. At this first stage we will give priority to the most significant ones, but over time we plan to enrich the archive with as many reports as possible.

One final clarification: music and concerts proper are excluded. For example: a concert of bells does not fall into this archive, however, the same concert heard from a distance and with the echo of the mountains all around does.
